This is a Facebook group of which I am a member. Sometimes, cars get posted here but not on Marketplace. A couple of ads came up today and look interesting:

1942 Eight Club Sedan and 1948 Super Eight Club Sedan. Posting states cars were stored in a barn since about 1974. Both need restoration but look to be quite solid and complete. I think the '42 is quite interesting and appears to be well worth saving. Seller asking $4K for both cars. Unfortunately, they are located in Alberta, Canada, so they are in a remote area. From the photos, it looks like these cars are literally in the middle of nowhere. But the scenery does look impressive. Wonder how two Packards ended up here:

1949 (23rd Series) Super Eight Touring Sedan, Model No. 2382. Solid original unrestored car that has been in storage for many years. Car has been in the same family since new. Grandson recently inherited from late grandfather but lacks the financial means and skills to tackle a restoration. Unfortunately, the interior is really trashed; probably due to rodent infestation. Headliner and rear seat are chewed to shreds. Body looks exceptionally straight however, and it has a nice accessory sunvisor. Located in Chesterfield, VA. Asking $3,900:

I can't view the facebook listings but would be interested in seeing photos of the Alberta cars. Perhaps one of our local club members would be interested.

Cars are also listed on kijiji alberta for $4500.
They are located in Beaverlodge AB. NW of Grande Prairie or a 5 hour drive NW of Edmonton. So for sure a pretty remote location

Interesting that the 22nd Series Super 8 appears to have the door closing pulls from a 12st Series Custom Super Clipper (lacking the spiral wound plastic) on the wood grained window mouldings.
Perhaps a swap that was done at some time.

And, yes, Beavearlodge is a pretty remote place.

There is a new Packard listing on this site as of this morning and it is for a very significant car. 1938 Twelve Sedan. Very solid and complete unrestored car with beautiful sheet metal and a well-preserved original interior. Car has not run in many years and will require a full mechanical rebuild. Sale includes new manufacture replacement cylinder heads and a rebuilt distributor. This is an estate sale. Owner passed away while car was undergoing restoration and family wants to sell. Sadly, this is a very familiar tale for Packards I am seeing posted online these days. As this is a restricted site, I have downloaded and attached some of the photos of this car, but there are more on the Facebook group site. You will have to join this group to see the ad itself. If interested, please contact Charles MacDonald at 301-213-7129 or email inex01@verizon.net. Car is located in Maryland. Asking price is $22K.

That one is a 1942 Clipper club sedan! Might be worth the long trip to retrieve that one!

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
