Blueprints cared for by the Packard proving grounds foundation are the same. I believe the contact is still Bruce Blevins and there is a fee depending on amount of research needed to find and size of each print duplicated. They also send hard copies.

Dave, here's an interesting one I saw on a customer's car. The first char is stamped so poorly it almost looks like a "D"... but is surely a C.

Late production 55 400.

It almost certainly a "D". 55 and 56 theft proof numbers are in large part without logic, mostly an orderless jumble. Some 56s are "C" and some 55s are "D". Some are blank, and some reuse numbers from the late '30s without an alpha prefix. Another indication of the lack of the old internal order of things that followed the switch to Conner, the nice, neat progression on theft-proof numbers ceased with the end of assembly at the old plant.

Would this be a new record highest theft proof number? The highest I'm aware of is D53986.

Thanks, I got the other one from the article. Sounds like a lot of good data since then. 😃

Interesting. This is #7611.
