So did my 6,200lb 1952 Henney-Packard Nu-3-Way with LevelDraulic! Seeing it barreling up an interstate was a sight to see and that was before it was rebuilt, or rather, overhauled. I may have later rebuilt it but not sure.

Riki,
Normally I have no question when reading your posts, but here I'm curious. Is this your way of writing "c'est la vie"?

Work on the After Eight is pretty well non existant just now other than having the grill and bumpers chromed. BUT, I have been screwing together my tribute to the 56 400 that was never built, but was an artist's rendering in the next to last Packard ad for the Detroit built cars.

Is the Reynolds Wrap trim painted white or just an illusion from an overcast day?

Late production cars are sometimes seen with this aluminum trim with no black paint stripes rather than the more familiar stainless with the stripes. It is original to the car.

As an aside, I first drove this car when I was in my early twenties and begged the favor from the owner. Then and now it is one of the best driving 400s I have encountered so when it became available in the estate a few years ago I jumped to get it. Trans shifts like a fresh Torqueflite but without the Torqueflite whine.

Let the ride decide wrote:
Ross,

Top off looks nice.

I was fortunate to be able to borrow an NOS inner rocker MANY years ago. I had a friend make he and I copies. Attached are some pictures I took before the NOS inner rocke was shipped back to a trusting Packard person.

Questions;

Are you going to modify the outer frame brackets to fit the new inner rockers?

Did you box it in all the way to the firewall?

Will the body come off the frame, so the extra steel strapping can be welded to the frame?

Are you going to use the windshield as is, or cut it down like the Caribbean windshield? Will you add the extra bracing on the inside of the firewall? Can't wait to see how you are going to do the header.

Will you be adding the brace in the trunk, like the 56 Caribbean convertibles had?

I have more, but enough for now.

Holy Blast From The Past! Let the ride decide, that was me with the NOS rocker inners! Nice to know you are still around and still working on Packards!
