I have this single, original 1953-1954 Packard side door mirror (one only). They are the same right or left. The chrome on the body is in decent condition. Perhaps it was rechromed at some point in the past? The head stainless has some minor dings on it, but could probably be "picked" out and repolished. No mirror glass. Which makes me think it was taken apart way in the past for rechrome. But its been sitting for many years. One small pit in the chrome

This are getting nearly impossible to find anymore as they are no longer reproduced.

Sorry, sold over a year ago!

I may have one or two but not in the same condition and would definitely need replating. I won’t be sure until I get to my shop in a couple days. I do not, however, have the special screw needed to attach it. This is what the screw looks like but what’s not clear in the photo is that the threaded end has a hex hole for an Allen wrench.

An easily 3D printable item, thankfully. $20 or so... Also I am surprised one of the vendors has not repopped them yet.

Note also that the 1951-1954 mirror looks virtually identical to the 1955-1956 type but they are not interchangeable and mount completely differently. Even the attaching screw is different.

As for reproducing them, I looked into it once but the problem was the mirror itself as it was swaged together after assembly and, of course, the screw which would have to me machined. These attach from the backside through the door, being tightened using an Allen wrench through the hole in the base. People have been known to glue in a piece of slightly smaller glass with good results, however.

It doesn't really need to be machined; it can be 3D printed with max-material-condition threads then tapped or threaded to size.

Machining a few might not be TOO bad... I would have to check.

The hard part of making the screw, which itself is quite simple and has only a round head, would be in putting in the internal hex in the threaded end. It would take some king of special tooling to do that. Either that, or make them using a set screw with a head welded on.

I actually have some very nice 1951-1954 mirrors that I bought from Merritt that were supposed to be for my 1956 Clipper but they were the earlier type in spite one having the 1955-1956 mounting bracket attached upside down to it. Fred argued that they were the correct ones but they were not. Even the head (mirror) angle is different. Merritt does have reproductions, they said, of the 1955-1956 type but it requires a second mortgage to buy them.
