Today, my wife and I were looking at bills and looking at all the things about our house that still need to be done, plus the real estate taxes that go up every year. This will be the 20th year that we've lived in and worked on our house. I said "could you imagine how much cheaper and easier life would be if we moved into a doublewide?" She replied with, "you wouldn't have been happy in a doublewide". I agreed. Then, described what I pictured in my mind to validate all the effort and expense was "you can't park a Packard in front of a doublewide".

p.s. no offense to anyone that lives in a trailer. I envy you in several aspects.

Mark (FirstEliminator), things don't look much different overseas either. For me it's been 25 years and I often think that when I die one day the house will be in the condition it was supposed to be in when I bought it.

Eventually, one of my kids will inherit the house. My hope is they will appreciate it the way I do. Or, they might sell it. The cost of realestate here is getting crazy. For that aspect, I'm glad I'm not in my 20's finding that hone prices are going up faster than I can save. It seriously cuts into the Packard fund.

I have been around the world three times. Never have I seen a Packard as sad looking as that one in your front yard. Like the house, though. :)
