I am changing the oil in my 1941 180. While I wait for the oil to drain out and a new filter to arrive after ordering the incorrect one initially, I am wondering, should there be a crush washer on the plug? There wasn't one when I took it out. I have to go to NAPA anyways, so should I get and install a crush washer?

The V8 supersession list says to replace with G105453:packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/parts ... SearchValue=G105453&ButtonLookup=Go

Which is a "5/8 ID X 13/16 OD COPPER AND ASBESTOS" washer. This is very similar to the "620 ID X 7/8 OD COPPER" washer used on the later cars, except it has the asbestos core. The later cars used a solid copper washer probably because it was like 1 cent cheaper.
