A good well-sorted fuel system does not need an electric fuel pump. It’s just a Band-Aid (sticky plaster) for whatever the actual problem is so better to repair it properly than to install Rube Goldberg contraptions.

was reading about your compression test. A compression test should be done on a warm engine, all spark plugs out,throttle blocked open. the formula is compression ration times atmosphereic pressure at your elevation above sea level. you can find compression ratio in your owners manual, a shop manual or a motors manual if you have any of these.

What does the white and black slash diagonal line represent right before mechanical fuel pump?

That just means the line is longer that it appears in the diagram.
