Non ribbed conduits were also used for 1948-50 and 1951-54 with hydraulic window lifts, parts Group 30.35135 Front Door and 30.4765 Rear Door
These accommodated the wiring to window switches and hydraulic cylinder solenoids in one passage and the hydraulic hose to the cylinder in the other one

Part # 396966 for 1948-50 convertible front doors, sold by Steele as # 30-0247-21, 18" Long but original Packard conduits were 23-1/4" to 24" Long.

Part # 432799 for all 1951-54 front and rear doors, # 409324 for 23rd Series rear doors

The ribbed ones would work for these applications as well as long as exact replacement is not an issue

My 1948 former Henney-Packard, my former 1952 Henney-Packard and current 1954 Patrician (including some spare doors), each all-original cars, have the ribbed conduits as have all others in the era that I’ve seen including a former PAC president’s 1951 Patrician. However, maybe Packard used different suppliers on occasion or even purchased from GM’s supplier.

396966 is the number given in the parts book even through the V8 cars but 469349 is off the factory drawing for the V8 window harness. I suspect the former is the smooth type and someone just neglected to update the parts book.

The V8 cars use a 12" length, judging by the two used but unbroken samples I have.

The different part numbers could also relate to the different lengths even if all else was identical.

Interesting. Those are probably the two I have on my desk. I was wondering how he managed to find a parts car with intact ones...

Want them back?
