Did he do 2 passes or just run through once?
On my V8 I had to do 2 passes. If you get to bolt 36 then when you go back to 1 it's under torqued, then it's not torqued to spec. The other day I had to tighten up a 5-bolt Ringfeder and I swear I needed like 7 passes before it was fully torqued down. Attach file: ![]() ![]()

Good questions. Not sure if he torqued in stages, or retorqued after the initial torquing. He didn't retorque after the engine had been warmed up and he discovered a wet plug, just drained the fluids.
He's pulled the head and will replace the gasket using some gasket spray as well. ![]() He's considering pulling he valves while he has the head off, which seems like a good idea to me, even if it's just to clean them up and lap them. But like all old car projects it will probably be more than that! LOL
