Which vendors have you tried?

I'd reach out to Joel Ray at Patrician Industries, as he has a huge cache of Post-War NOS parts, and a part like that is not a high-volume, fast-selling part. So good changes he may have one.

Oh my, I hadn't come across Joel Ray's collection of parts before. I was just scrolling through the over 2000 parts he has on eBay.ebay.us/m/tG0quL Yikes, it's like a candy store for Packard owners! I gotta keep away! LOL

There are several speedometer gears listed, not sure if he has the one you need or not.

I download photos of his listings with some frequency for my personal reference.

He didn’t have the one I needed but possibly because the number stamped on it is not the Packard part number. He does have a lot of parts and I buy from him all the time but I have noticed that in a couple rare cases, what he thought was NOS was actually NORS (New Old Replacement Stock) so a bit different than original.

Not to highjack this post, but I have been looking for a fuel filter for my 53 Cavalier and would prefer to use what Packard would have supplied.

Joel has the filter below listed as NOS for a '53, but it's a bit different than pictured in the 53 owner's manual. Did Packard have their own fuel filter? I can't tell what's written on the top of the filter in the picture from the operator's manual.

I think Packard used A/C's, but most cars I've seen ended up with Carter's. Same function, just slightly different style.

Most, I think, were installed by dealers, and the Carters probably had better sales margins.

He typically has three lots of parts: eBay, swapmeet, and "in the warehouse." Even if he has something on eBay, I'll call him directly and tell him it was on eBay. Then he knows where to pull it from. Also, that typically saves him and me money over paying eBay their cut.

A few times, I have asked him for a part, and he will tell me that it's already packed in the trailer to go to Hershey (aka Swapmeet parts), and he will pull it when he uploads it and put it aside.

Joel, Marvin, and Roscoe have, over the years, bought remaining stock from both defunct Packard dealers and left-over Packard stuff from Studebaker/SASCO. This is why he has so much NOS/NORS inventory.

That makes sense and I see there are two fuel filters listed in the parts book.

I did find one. Max Merrit did not have it listed on their website. I did call and talk to Fred. He found one and is sending it.

The 412444 fits only Henney-Packard and certain 1953 and 1954 models. Is that the one you bought or was it another?
