54 300 (?) "needs assembled" in IL. 8 grand. The only good thing I see is the paint. The interior work so far looks very questionable and it's not clear that any other major work has even been done.

Uhh yeah don't dump 8k of paint, bloated door cards, and uninstalled parts onto a 54 sedan and expect to get it back. ☹️

Other than the 12V system, what is wrong with this? Will be interesting to see what it brings.

Couple of interesting FB Marketplace postings today:

1936 120 Sedan parts car. Somebody cut the entire roof off for some reason. This was an export model returned to the U.S. as it has RHD. Intact drive train and sheet metal does not look too bad. It has sidemounts with the metal covers, so that alone is worth something. Also has the accessory trunk rack. Seller looking for offers. Georgia:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1423408938693784

1948 Standard Eight Sedan. A bit ragged around the edges and redone interior in red velour fabric is pretty bad, but the chrome looks really nice. Engine is free, but car is not running. Seller asking $5K. Kansas.

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1894968751340314

1932 Light Eight Touring Sedan. Nice older resto with some original features. I think that the interior is mostly original. Has wire wheels. These Light Eights are great driving cars. I once had one. Seller asking $26,500. Georgia:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1410521106961746

1953 Mayfair hardtop. Nice restoration. Looks stunning with ivory white over Polaris blue. Ad states only 47K and interior is mostly original. Seller asking $17,500. Montana:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/736217509081322

1951 300 Sedan. Very solid and original unmolested car. Ad states 43K original miles. True survivor. Only issues I see is that it has a '52 Cormorant hood ornament and someone added the chrome gravel shields from a Patrician to the lower rear doors. Seller asking $10K. Idaho:

Couple of new postings on FB today:

1956 Clipper Custom sedan. Parts car. No engine or trans but rest of car is there. Much useable trim, glass and sheetmetal. Owner willing to sell entire car for $2,500 or will part out and sell individual components. Massachusetts:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1244032100675791

1949 (22nd Series) Custom Eight Sedan. Rough parts car, but complete. Ad states engine has a big hole in the side of the block, so that's scrap. But much good trim and sheet metal. Terre Haute, IN. Seller asking $1,000:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/2181233242298023

1937 115C Coupe. Looks like an abandoned street rod project. No drivetrain. Modern wheels. Body in primer and obviously still needs quite a bit of metal work. Front fenders look a little rough. Seller apparently looking for offers. Seller also had a 1946 Chevy panel truck for sale which is partially disassembled and has a modern drivetrain. Another abandoned street rod project. Illinois:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/4218875754998011

1941 Henney Hearse. Complete vehicle. Partially disassembled, apparently an abandoned restoration project that did not get very far. Seller has a very rough 1941 160 Sedan parts car included. Asking $7,500. Alabama:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/990377429771129

1941 110 Coupe. Total restoration completed in 2010. High quality job. Two tone red color scheme. Interior looks very correct and obviously done to a high standard. This is a beautiful car. Seller asking $30K. Houston, TX:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1120925523200042

1955 Clipper Custom Constellation hardtop. Needs total restoration but body is exceptionally rust free as the car is from the West. Dealer tag on deck lid indicates car was originally sold by Rimrock Motors in Billings, Montana. Collision damage to front end and rear deck lid but seller says he will include a complete front clip and a deck lid from a 1955 Clipper Sedan parts car (will sedan trunk lid fit the Constellation?). Asking price for the package (car plus replacement front clip and deck lid) is $1,400:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/804110078541388

1949 (23rd Series) Deluxe Eight Sedan. Model No. 2362. Original unrestored. Very straight and rust-free Western body. Decent original interior. Needs exterior cosmetics, but not too bad. Could be polished up and driven with original patina. Think this car has potential. Seller asking $2,500. Utah:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1025657819691110

1954 Clipper Deluxe sedan. Needs restoration but body looks really good on this one. Seller bought to restore but has now abandoned the project. Looks complete. Asking $1,000. Washington state:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/550549471445922

1946 or 1947 Clipper Sedan. Not sure of model but think it might be a Clipper Six. Rough unrestored but intact. In a yard full of older model vehicles seller is trying to clear out. Also see a Studebaker Lark but rest of stuff looks newer, like 1980's and 1990's. See a Pontiac Fiero and an 1980's Olds Toronado. Lots of trucks; GM square bodies era and newer. Ad states everything needs to go. Montana:

facebook.com/marketplace/item/1202888538010741

And finally:

1917 Packard Twin Six. Or at least a rusty pile of wreckage that once was a 1917 Twin Six but has been left in the woods to rot away for many decades. Not sure if any of this stuff is even useable. Not a complete car. All I can recognize is the hood, frame and engine and radiator core. Seller looking for offers. Washington State:

Hate to see a car with a nice body like that cut up (especially in the NE where they are rare) but the dude is nuts thinking someone will pay $2500 no title. It would be a nice buy with title and at a grand tops, though. A good number of junk cars out there with half-decent engines.

- 49 I already commented on a few posts ago

- yeah good luck trying to sell that street rod project to literally anyone...

- I think 7500 is optimistic on the hearse considering the mechanical condition is unknown, but it would be a very cool project for the right $$$

- the 110 is very nice but that interior looks off to me, did they even have all leather interiors for that year? It looks a bit too puffed as well.

- yes the trunk will interchange but there's still not enough to make one complete car there from the two, and there's better no rust cars to fully restore if desired.

- hope the super 8 finds a good home as the interior is still sharp; bet it needs a mechanical overhaul though.

- "thousan' bucks come n get it"

- "five hunnid bucks come n get it"

- I'm betting a teenager bought that 1917 as a used car in the early 30's or so for $20, realized it couldn't keep up on the highway (even by 30's standards) while at the same time got 6 MPG, and drove it into the woods when he was tired of it. Maybe the rest of it is "still there" under 90 years of detritus. Those are rare enough that even if you were to part one out in the past 50 years you wouldn't dump the whole front clip into the woods, including the rare zinc carb and radiator. If it was just a block, then sure, but it's practically the whole chassis. In addition, with how pinholed all the metal is, it's clearly been out there a long time.

Edit, from the 1917 guy: "the engine and trans have immence vallue". Maybe someone should message him and see what he'd actually want as he doesn't want to give me a number. (I'm just curious.) I told him it's worth scrap value plus 100 bucks. Considering it looks like it was buried up to the vibration dampener, I'd like to know if anyone here would materially disagree with that appraisal. (Engine view for reference.)
