Ummm....not exactly. Finding a willing Packard mechanic in the Dallas metro area is akin to finding a hundred dollar bill on the floor at Walmart. Packard's showroom on Ross Ave has been closed for years. You may see reference to the "Dallas Zone Warehouse" in a couple posts - that refers to a known source for mostly pre-war parts, though the Master Partsman stationed there is certainly familiar with sources for postwar parts. Very few shops are willing to mess with older stuff. Not to sound pessimistic, there are a few out there - would help to understand what services you are seeking? Installing a wiring harness is not a Packard specific task.
OH, and one of my very first cars was a 51 Studebaker Champion Convertible. One issue was the non-original motor....331 Cadillac. Dad wasn't too happy about that. Have only seen one other in the last 40 years. And another of our more experienced Packard Servicemen, RossM, daily drives a 51 Studebaker, so you are in safe company. DAF

Thanks for the insight. Right now the service would be to install a wiring harness for the 51 studebaker and future work on the the 51 packard. I would think, residing in the 4th largest metro area in the country, there would be a sufficient number of mechanics for classic cars. Interesting about one of your first cars. Mine is a 51 commander convertible. Just wanting for delivery.
I'll cross my fingers and keep plugging away. Again thanks.
