Cranking speed would be lower with plugs in all cylinders except the one being tested. (?)

Yeah I sort of thought of that after posting it, but that would mean his leakdown must be pretty bad if the difference in cranking speed gives +50% compression.

Compression might improve once the engine has run for a while. 90+ is pretty good. 60 is plenty to start and run.

Careful using 12V as it can break apart the starter housing due to the added torque and speed from the sudden engagement. Also, don’t forget that it is a positive ground car.
