I mentioned that the 46 Accessory Book listed the vacuum antenna also.Quote:

Thanks to all on the rotary antenna, which I bought from Tucson Packard. Now, is there anything in print on where exactly to drill the hole?

I don't know of any factory data on this but someone (me?) with one installed could take some photos and take measurements.

Doesn't the Service Manual (perhaps SC, STBs) usually have instructions on installing accessories?

Kev, in those postwar instances I can think of, accessory installation instructions were packed with the accessory; for example outside sideview mirrors had templates for locating the drill holes, oil filter kits had instructions for routing lines, etc. Perhaps there were exceptions to this, and perhaps this changed over the years as well.

Dave,

I know that the 51-54 Service Manual actually has a dedicated section on Accessories (see pic).

Wow, maybe I should buy or download a 51-54 service manual!

Just looked in my 55/56 service manual, no similar section. Do you have a 48-50 service manual you can check for that kind of section?

No accessories section pre 51 but you must be missing part of 55-56. While not as extensive, still has one.

I have a 51-54 Service manual and mounting instructions for accessories is very comprehensive. Sadly that isn't true for the 46-50 manual, at least not the PAC reprint I own.
