Good day gentlemen. It is a distinct honor to be included in this group of Packard luminaries. And how flattering to have a handsome man wish I had a clone....oh wait, or did you mean the car??? Well, being a lady I shall assume you meant me for the time being. But, enough about me, more about the car. I love this car! I have added it to the registry for those of you who want the details (Mal: you can rest easy tonight - TW). It was a thrill to drive on my birthday. Especially when the car hesitated and stalled on the upside of a very steep hill in rush hour traffic, which is when I discovered the emergency brake isn't adjusted quite well enough to keep the call from rolling. Fortunately, the fine help from my personal Packard Paddock minion (we-aim-to-serve, ask-your-supervisor Tom) I learned about the throttle knob. Restarted the car while keeping one foot on the brake pedal and applying the queen's wave to passing cars, we got it started and headed home. Yippee! More on our little adventure with stalling and hesitating, soon. Cheers, Laurie

And be assured I'll certainly get a good nights sleep knowing your Coupe is in there. EDIT - Where are my manners? Forgot to you to PackardInfo, so , enjoy many miles and trips in your Coupe and keep us updated.

Laurie, I've found out (the hard way) that my car will give me odd sorts of problems (stalling, brake fade, etc.) if I don't wait and let her idle long enough to get all warmed up. I allow a good 15 minutes to get her going, warmed up, etc., before I take her ANYWHERE! Actually, my friend and I call it her "pre-flight checkup". Seeing as your little girl is ninteen years older than my Polly, I'd recommend doing the same. (Have you named yours yet?) Also, I believe its time well spent to check fluid levels, tires and such before going anywhere. In the Army, we called it PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services). Some habits just die hard....
