My '54 (conventional suspension) has 5 bump stops. Two in the front, two in the rear over the axle, and one over the pumpkin.
I will have to bow to the TL experts on the bump stops arrangement on those cars.

What I noticed is that if I were to add an upper adjustable bump stop it would lower the car as well as put a little pre load on the torsion bars, which i think would add a little more rigidness to the overall ride, which is great when you throw the thing around corners at 90mph!

JT,
Before and after! yes there is a bumper underneath there. As seen in the old picture, my car didn't have any when I got here. The ride up front was noisy & hard as I recall because of that. kg

That looks to be the same bump-stop location as the conventional suspension models.

yeah, and if you put it on there before you put all the weight back on the car.....it will destroy it. pretty much squash the crap outa it and crack it all open. i learned the hard way.
had to order new ones, but it worked out because i got the ones like in the above picture the second time around. the first ones where round topped and not as tall, so i think they sent the wrong ones the first time. Hank

Interesting observation on size of the bumpers. Wonder why (using Steele's dimensions) they limited the travel on the TL by an inch overall.

Yeah they sent the wrong ones the first time. The first ones look like the conventional spring type. My new ones are pointed like the TL ones. Glad they broke now, not glad I spent twice the money.
