As long as I've been restoring and enjoying Packards from 33-34, I can't say with any form of conviction what their symbol for saftey glass was. Does anyone have a picture or a print of one? Was there a symbol on there? I've seen marks from later glass replacement but what was the OEM? Thanks in advance. I know it's an obscure detail, but for the few who know me on here, well...

With the exception of the front doors, all of the glass on my 34 Eight is assumed to be original. I examined it closely the last time this subject came up, and there are no markings of any kind to indicate glass vendor, date, etc.

I also have looked for this detail on original 37's. I am of the belief that there were no markings, however, I have noticed the quality of the edge sanding differs between original and replacement glass, the original glass more often than not being of higher, more uniform quality. That Would be a detail you could focus on...

the vent window on my 41 is PPG (pittsburg plate glass) duolite - their name for laminated glass. I can't say 100% that I know it's factory original, but it's not their current logo

Thanks for the replies fellas. I really wasn't sure if there ever was 1 for 33-4. We're in the process of cutting a 33 conv windshield and now would be the time if there's supposed to be anything. As far as detailed and polished edges, well, of course...it's a Packard! Thanks again.
