Do 1951 doors and deck lid from 51,52,53 2doors and 4 doors fit on a 54 Clipper? Rear bumper also.

Obviously doors between 2 door models and 4 door models are not compatible, but yes most of the 51-54 doors are should be interchangeable across similar models. (Sedans, 2 door sedan, hard tops, etc). Senior rear doors are different then junior rear doors.

Deck lids should be the same as well.

Only difference in everything across years may be the holes for the side trim, script, and trunk emblem.

Same with front fenders.

Bumpers may bolt up, the styles changed from year to year.

I don't believe the front windshield from a 51 will fit any cars after 51.
The front doors on a 51 will not fit 52 and later due to the different windshield. Rear doors should fit.
The hood on a 51 will fit forward to 54 but you need to drill the new holes/fill the holes if you are moving it to a later year or going back to a 51....Due to the letters that are installed across the 51 hood P A C K A R D.
the deck lid should be the same 51 to 54, I know the hinges for the 51 deck lid are different than the 53 ('cause I've got a 51 200, and a '53 Clipper). The rear bumpers will move forward but will be of a different style. Shouldn't be to hard to get a rear bumper setup. The front bumper set are not compatible to move forward. The turn signal setup and fender wrap around are missing on the 51 set.up Please be sure to confirm this information on the interchange manual, I'm trying to recall the dim past here. Hope this helps.

I only have V8s, but thought the change in windshield shape was effective with 53 (26th Series).

Except for differences like tinting, 48-54 parts book seems to support same windshield for 51-52 closed cars, and another for 53-54 closed cars. Convertible has its own shape 51-54.

Door glass application listings show generally same 51-54, for a given body style and within Junior/Senior lines, but the devil is in the details.

Basic trunk lid stampings were common to all models and used all the way into 55, but with mounting holes punched differently for various style of ornamentation. Hinges are unique to 51, but 52-54 are same.

There were also SC articles published about superseding 51-52 front fenders with 53 (which carried over for 54) by having dealer drill required hole for variations in trim over the years/models. The 51-52 rear fenders were superseded with 53; a special molding was made to be applied to recreate the previously integral curved feature line for 51-52 models.

The short answer is that there is no short answer, but you have to crack the parts books, exercise due diligence, and apply a little logic.

Rear doors may bolt on but have different shape due to changes in fender line or contour.

Try using the 1948-54 parts book that Big Kev loaded on this site. If the part number is the same, they fit. If not maybe some modifiction might work like filling holes etc. You need to do your homework and be prepared when buying parts that differ in year and model from the car you are working on. Be organized and save time, money and effort.

Thanks, it took a while to go through the list, but it looks like none of the 51-53 coupes front doors will fit the 54 Clipper. I may not be looking at the listing correctly, but thats what I can tell from them. Please correct me if I am mistaken, before a make a trip to check out two front doors from a 52 coupe. 454514 for one door and 454515 for the other with no additional numbers like the ones listed above it.

The parts book is certainly the right place to begin your research, but you sometimes have to look past the numbers of the basic part.

Looking at coverage for complete, untrimmed doors in Gr. 30.295, it shows the same front doors, left and right (respectively), for all 51-52 club sedans and business coupes (2465-95-98 and 2565-95 body styles). However, there are several different part numbers shown for front doors of 53-54 Clipper club and sportster sedans (2665 vs. 2695-97 vs. 5465-85-95 body styles). While that seems to run counter to interchangability across all years, I suspect the differences lie mainly with the mounting holes for variations in trim, and I'll try to show you why.

Take a look at the outer repair panels shown in Gr. 30.297, and you'll see that ALL 51-54 TWO-door models, including convertible and hardtop, share the same skin, left and right (respectively); however, that panel only covers the door below the window belt. Next, Gr. 30.310 shows same front door hinges, WRT to their respective locations, for ALL 51-54 models, but regardless of body style. Yet, Gr. 30.366 shows same side glass, left OR right, for ALL club and sportster sedans and business coupes from 51-54 (2465-95-98, 2565-95, 2665-95-97, 5465-85-95-97 body styles) - that is, ALL 51-54 TWO-door SEDAN models.

I didn't audit all the details, but the evidence presented, thus far, is pretty suggestive that the front doors will cross-fit among any of the two-door sedan body styles of 51-54.

Yet, the devil could be in minor details beyond trim, like some of the hardware. However, that stuff can usually be transferred from the original assembly to the replacement.

Caveat emptor.

1951-52 front doors will not fit 1953-54 due to the different front upper corner shape.
This is related to the different windshield shape for 1953-54.
