You are correct. The 55-6 used cardboard on sides and a vinyl/fabric type materal for the floor with a squarish check pattern. The original pattern as far as I know is not available but there is a fairly close material that was used on other cars (Fords, I think) available.

The post war cars to 54 used the cardboard on back of seat and a sprayed on flocking material on sides. They also had a coarse wool (hogshair??) mat type material on floor early 50's and maybe earlier then to the vinyl check.

The trunk lining has been done correctly by any number of people. The finished flocking was shown to me at the DesMoines meet last week and several people did a very good job. One of the large Packard upholstery suppliers in New Jersey has the matting material for the floor of the car that will match the flocking on the sides of the trunk. A little looking around will find a supplier of the flocking, I did not ask where they got the materials.

Was Bill Hirsch the company that has the matting material?

Big Kev, I wasn't sure you wanted names of companies listed in case someone has a bad experience and comes back on the site for printing them as a source. You can PM me and I'll give you the name.

You can list vendors names here, I dont have a problem with that. Everyone needs to make their own choices when selecting a vendor, and I think it's good to be able to reviewing the good and bad experiences people have had with vendors. It the only way people can make informed choices.
