Thanks again. The attached pdf-file reports about a Packard press machine, purchased in pre war times and maintained 14 years later at the same location.

This was indeed an interesting and enjoyable exercise tracking this little piece of history. It still leaves open the question of whether the prewar Briggs bodies had an identifying body tag as the postwar bodies did.

I do have a 1941 Clipper. There is a Briggs body tag on it and it matches the vin# 1401-9417 which I'm in the process of restoring

To quote Dave (O_D), who said there nine years ago:
