Bob,

Thank-you! I am thinking about the arm rest for the front seat. IIRC, someone here previously posted information on those commercially available center front seat rests.

I picked up the 400 today. She is beautiful and I think she actually drove better coming home given the new upholstery;) ! Here are some pictures of how things look now inside the car.

BTW, when my bride came home from work, I made her close her eyes and walked her out into the garage. Keeping her eyes closed I then had her sit inside the 400 and I closed the door. She was very quiet for the longest time; taking it all in. She smiled and said "very nice honey"! It was her smile that made it for me. She has stood by me through a serious health issues, along with the challenges that enter a family when one chooses urban policing as a career. She is quite the woman!

I will also post more detailed pictures of the remnants, in a couple of days. Looking inside them, I'm certain these came from the Packard plant.

Ladies and gentlemen, this appears to be my last posting on the 400's interior. As promised, I photographed the genuine original material that was found underneath the material I replaced. I've also photographed the markings that are present on the reverse side. I hope my journey here helps another Packard person out there in the world.

Those markings on the inside of upholstery, door panels, etc. are always interesting. My 56 Carib convertible had a vehicle# plus a date code stamped inside the leather side of the seat covers, plus some other undecipherable numbers. The date on the seat leather was April, the car was assembled in early June.
