Hi Kevin AZ.......
I can't be of any help with your search, but wanted to thank you for trying to reunite the Packard and the paper work. I was alerted to the whereabouts of the Dealer that sold my 51 Packard 200 and have been searching to find more information. I know how it feels to make a "connection" and try to "complete a process".........Best regards, Steve Fisher, packardguy53

The insertion of the paint code between the body type number and the sequential production number was typical Packard practice in many or most of their documents for decades, though it did not cary over everywhere, for example it wasn't on the patent plate, but was always or nearly always on the Vehicle Unit Record card, build slips, etc. from at least the middle 30s.

Just a quick update about this thread. I'm still not any closer to learning the location of this car. But I have located a previous owner from 1968. That owner, sold the car sometime in the during late spring or the summer of 1968. Presently however, he cannot recall to whom it was sold. (Thanks to Packards1 for the tip)
This car would have been stunning (IMO) given its paint codes and I'd still like to reunite the paperwork with the present car owner if possible. It just seems to me that the paperwork belongs to the actual car. Time permitting, I'm asking that you all please check with old-timers that may still be connected with local/regional Packard and or AACA clubs. Thanks in advance.
