37 Wire harness routing

Does anyone have pictures or a diagram of how the harness runs down the inner framerail to the taillights? Interested in seeing what path it takes up and over the axle and where the tank sender and rear taillight branches off. Also any pictures under the fenders thay show thr feeds the taillights and headlights. None of my original wiring survives and it's pretty much speakerwire in there right now that and that is loosely ziptied.

Also is there some type of clip that retains wire within the frame channel?

The are several different size clips that hold the wiring harness to the frame of my 40 and 41s. All of my wiring is routed on the drivers side of the car with the exception of the passenger head/turn/running light which are run under the radiator and the passenger tail/turn/running light which runs under the trunk near the bumper.

If you need pics let me know.

I hope this helps.

Well here you go.. The car is in a cold garage and I tried to catch the wiring front to rear. these are front to rear.
If you want a better shot let me know the one and I'll try to retake later
LArry
Note, The plastic loom is for the 12volt turn stop lights that were added so that people actually see what I am doing.

I'll get the front photos later LAR

Thanks that's helpful!

So, just for clarification, I'm not seeing any retainer clips along the long section of the frame rail between the firewall and the rear axle.

I need to get back under there with a shop light and see what remains.

I bought some asphalt impregnated wire loom which I am going to use to make that long tail section run with. At casual glance, it gives the appearance of the original loom, and is impact and chemical resistant. I'm running significantly more wires that originally as I'm adding turnsignals, backup light, fuel pump, and some other axillary wires.

I wish there was an overhead diagram of the the wire routing over the chassis layout, as that would have been super helpful when you are starting with no reference.

I tend to be over cautious with wire routing and even on my '54 added extra grommets and wire protection where there originally was none. Some of the wiring I pulled out of my '54 showed evidence of chaffing where it passed through or over metal body parts.

This sort of birdseye harness layout in conjunction with the photo title descriptions of various spots on the frame might help determine where specific takeoff points are positioned. In later years there was a clamp near a takeoff or junction point and if there was a long run between those points, a clamp or two in between. Maybe 37 clamping is similar.

You can get heat shrinkable cloth loom to cover the wires. Summit Racing and McMaster both carry it. I avoid Amazon as I have used them and have gotten inferior loom.

Here ae three locations from the battery to rear, Ill look for the forward ones later.
I'm sure there is one between the battery and where it goes up over the frame.

As I remember as I ran the turn siginal wires there were not many attachments since it was running inside the frame rail.
