Thanks. Good catch.

Hoping that at least one of my 2 rotors and 3 coils that I already have will be working and correct, but haven't really checked.

Edit: Oh, and I also have a set of newish plug wires.

On my engine there are brass shims under the rocker lever shaft brackets. What is the significance of this?

Didn't have much time yesterday but still got some things done. Dropped my tank and drained it; the float had a pinhole and was filled with straight p*** whereas the rest of the gas looked like dyed diesel. I was able to repair my fuel sender and probably will do a video on that. The fuel line out of the tank is rusted and I'm not inclined to try to crack it loose... not sure what I'll do yet. If I have time I may try the "nuts n bolts" cleaning method for the inside of the tank. Or just rely on the fuel pump screen and fuel filter

I removed my master cylinder and a couple more brake lines. Still need to remove the long fuel and brake line, plus a previous owner ran a new fuel line alongside the old one. Though it would probably work, since I'm replacing the brake lines anyway I'm also going to replace that "new" (30+ years old) fuel line.

Also got my 2 new front brake lines in place. Anything less than a 90 bend I found it easiest to just do by hand.

Also found a nice black wire just hanging out under my car, visible on the far left side of the bottom photo (center wire is fuel sender). Well, that explains why the running and license lights never worked in the rear. Surely just more rodent damage. An equally goofed up harness is visible in the front, also (bottom right of the photo).

Looks like a nice, tidy job. What kind of bender are you using and do you also have a straightener for the coils?

Thanks. It's a copper-nickel 3/16 kit so I'm just bending by hand 💪

I have a cheapo HF bender but it's only worth using on the 180 loop for the front passenger wheel. Also the HF flare kit includes benders too even though it doesn't say so on the box.

Thank you, that's handy to know. I presume that you know that brake lines must be double-flared which I believe is per DOT or maybe one of the other federal safety agencies.

Nope I was just doing single flare. Need to see how to do a double flare... not sure if my kit comes with the dies needed.

YES! Brake lines should always be double-flared to handle the brake pressure. Fuel/Oil lines can be single-flared, but I always double-flared those as well.

Don't worry, will do. Just gotta figure out how...

Edit: Bought these. Fortunately I always leave a bit extra on my lines so I can just redo them with the double flare.
