More non glamours sanding, blocking and filling tonight. Just working up the low spots and tapping down the high spots. I look forward to working on the front half of the car where there is just small dings and the such to level as opposed to the rear half which was sides swiped on both side and rear ended at one point. Also the rear half required 5 different patch panels which had to be fabricated. Then of course the entire front floor that had to be replaced. Good lord what this car has been through.

Primer and Body Filler...... You spend all the money on them and over half of the material ends up being sanded off. Go figure.

Does all this blocking and sanding mean that your car is in imminent danger of being painted?

Will get some photos of visor mount points soon.

The plan is to get it painted as soon as all the blocking and sanding is done.

So yes, the pics of the visor mounting would be wonderful, also pics of the size and type of screws used. Thanks!

The only major expenditures left as far as the body work is concerned is the paint itself, and the cost of the new front and rear window seals.

At last.

The side brackets are held on by #12 x 1 hex head (5/16) self tapping screws. The center bracket by the same but only 3/4 long. The center bracket sits down close to to the rain gutter. The sides have the top screw right in the crease as shown, and the bottom 2 7/8 below, both 1/2 inch from the edge of the molding.

Also included is a shot of my new find--the intensely desirable 54 Clipper Deluxe sedan with heater as its ONLY option. All this for only 1K. I love them like that. Will probably slap an overdrive in it.

Good for you, Kev. I like your taste in the "Reinhart-bodied" cars. I think the '54 Clipper is one of the handsomest of them all.

Just an update...still doing the mundane body work over here. The rear half of this car was a disaster. Damage from at least 3 separate accidents The only exterior panel on this car that doesn't require body work is the gas filler door.

So lots of moving metal back to when it should be, followed by filler and sanding....and more sanding.....followed by more sanding.....then light weight filler and finally more sanding. A couple more days then another coat of primer to over the rear of the car, and the block sanding process starts again.

So no pictures as because of the level of dust in the garage from the above process, I fear to bring any kind of electronics into the garage.

First round of body work is complete and the entire rear of the car from the front doors back has been re-primed. So far so good, no obvious "DOH!s" with the body work I just finished.

Pics of the rear showing all completed body work on the tail light pillars and trunk filler. The rear quarter where that was replaced with a patch panel, and the rear door that was caved in from a previous accident and also the dogleg that was replaced.
