Two cars I had (as used cars) that I'd love to have back: a 1965 Riviera Gran Sport, yellow with 2 4bbls and a white 1965 Olds Starfire coupe with the exhausts out the back quarter panels. I was in college and made money for tuition by "flipping" them. Peanuts in today's prices, though.

Before my Packard, I had a 1941 Chevy pumper in bright red with yellow trim. You can't beat a fire truck for grandchildren (or your own children when young!). Siren, bell, flashing lights; what's not to like?

If I did not have my '47 Clipper, let's see, , , , I would have a couple of more vintage electric guitars in my collection , , , but wait, , this is an automotive message board, so I will say a 1954 Ford Skyliner coupe w/V8. That model has a hardtop "green sunglasses" roof, which is really fun to drive. I drove my brother's '54 Ford V8 while he cashed-in on the all-expenses paid trip to Vietnam that he won from Uncle Sam in 1969.

It was a FUN car to drive and easy to maintain, and it's one that I could afford then & now.

If we are just waving a magic wand, then I would go for a 1948 Tucker. ;o)

I will stick with my '47 Packard revitalization, although I wish my baby was working with eight cylinders.

38-41 Chevy Pickup

I have the choice from the rest of my fleet (see below), however I am also partial to late twenties Franklins.

Middle 50's top of the line Buicks.

If I got sold my 39 120 and 51 200, I would be looking for a nice 68 Peugeot 404. I had three of them; one I drove for 21 years and sold for $5000. I've kicked myself ever since then for selling it. It was wonderfully comfortable, would go anywhere, cruise all day long at 90 mph and still get decent mileage. It came stock with a 85 hp slant four hemi, four speed transmission and a sunroof to boot.

Well, I have to get a drivable Packard for the first time in my life first. I've had two postwar parts cars and one choice pre-war major project (well beyond my capabilities in all regards).

But, let me think........probably another '66-'67 Toronado, had a '67. It was a great, fun-to-drive cheap used car then, still like that design, fond recollections of the way it drove. The other would be a '61-'63 Lincoln, had a '63 convertible which drove well for a 90K mile car which had been passed around through various collectors but never really restored.

Thinking about it some more....there is a long list....

My first two cars were Chryslers,the first was a 1952 Windsor and the next a 1962 New Yorker. I would love to have either of these two cars back in my garage along with the 47 Super Clipper which I recently sold.
