Removing the rear pump oil jump tubes. Whoever installed these last hammered them in so they were deformed and pretty much swedged in place. They were a pain to remove. So I will need to find new ones as I dont think I can clean these ones up.

Next I removed the rear pump.

In picture HighRange9, what the heck are those welds? Doesnt look factory.

Also, is there a modern/HF tool to compress that clutch spring?

Not sure what the clutch facings are supposed to look like new. But I guess those are worn.

I did find this (SSB-359), I wonder if this explains what I am seeing with the welds on the High Range Clutch casing:

I ordered a clutch compressor tool for about $40 that I think will do the job.

Trying to figure out what parts I am going to need to order. Figure at a minimum I will need a gasket kit and seals. I will have to check the bushings and brake bands as well. Figure new clutch disks are a requirement.

Perhaps I should have waited until Ross was back in the states for back for his technical expertise on all of this!

If you are going to disassemble the low range brake piston check out page 30 and 31 of TU section of SM. Don't remember what Hank did with his but I used a 2x4 to support the assy with a U shape cut out for the shaft to enter. Had a thinner block of wood below the 2x4 opening. Used a large C clamp between the thinner wood and the piston to press down on the piston top while releasing the clip. The spring(s) in that thing are vicious. The U shape opening is needed so you can attach the clamp on the shaft when the piston is compressed. I made my clamp but I think a commercial split shaft collar will work better and maybe something you want to order. Don't remember the ID of collar needed but you can measure once you have it apart.
