Noted. I plan on taking the heads off and inspecting it (I know I said that on the other engine too, but this one the task will be easier...).

Hopefully nothing too serious. Would this be something that prevents the engine from turning over all the way? It turns easily nearly all the way, say from 12 o'clock around to 11 o'clock.

Edit: Now that I look closer, that valve spring does look more compressed than the others.

Yes, it could if the valve is not all the way open. Don't try to force the engine to turn past the point it stops, or you could bend a pushrod if it's stuck valves stopping it.

Also, consider the possibility that you could have more than one valve stuck.

Yup, I forgot my dead blow last time but I'll either tap thru the valves or just take the heads off and make sure this problem is rectified.

By the way, how is the trim around the rear window supposed to be waterproofed? I couldn't find any sealant around mine when I took them off to replace the rear window.

Right now, might as well be a convertible with the top down in that area if the car is not covered, as there are open holes behind the trim.

Should be a flat round rubber seal the faster goes through. Similar to the trim fasteners seals used on the trunk.

Thanks, here's a better picture of mine from when I was replacing my window. Obviously whoever painted the car last made absolutely no effort to paint behind the trim. I found to trace of a rubber disk when I was in there.

At some point will need to address the ill-fitting rear window, rust holes, etc., or just leave the back seat out permanently. I guess $300 for rear window weatherstrip is not the end of the world, considering it's darn near impossible to do it without it, not that Ross didn't warn me... Either way, definitely a project for much later.

I took the radio out. It is in perfectly decent shape for the condition of the car, and in excellent mechanical condition, but doesn't work. Clearly all the components in it are original. I think even the vibrator does not work, but I'm sure it needs re-capped too, at the very least. Will be working on it in the near future.

P.S. I scanned and uploaded the sticker on the bottom of the radio.

Probably dirty or oxidized contacts in the vibrator is that issue and maybe you can open the can and do a cleaning to get it to work. Being 12v you might also have luck finding a NOS mechanical vibrator on ebay if you want to search and go that route but more than likely the electronic replacement will be the only option.
