John, I believe you're incorrect, check Turnquist's book or one of the many other sources. In the 1934 Eight series, only the 1100 had the 129.5 inch wheelbase, the 1101 was 136 inches, and the 1101 touring was listed as 5-7 passengers, meaning jump seats. The 1101 phaeton is listed as a 4 passenger car, as is the sport phaeton. The 1102 you note as having a 129.5 inch wheelbase had a 141 inch wheelbase and only came in 5-7 passenger sedan or limousine.

Owen,

Your data matches what we here in the PackardInfo Model Info pages for 1934.

https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/modelinfo/index.php?mode=year&id=1934&ButtonYear=Go

To me I hate when people use just the Model Number (later reffered to as the Chassis Number) as it's not specific enough. This is why I also included the Body Style Number in addition to the Model/Chassis Number in the Model Info pages.

When someone says they have a 1934 1101, I would reply which one? As there are 10 different 1101 Body Types in 1934.

710 Eight Touring
711 Eight Phaeton
712 Eight Formal Sedan
713 Eight Sedan
716 Eight Club Sedan
717 Eight Coupe
718 Eight Coupe
719 Eight Coupe Roadster
723 Eight Convertible Sedan
727 Eight Convertible Victoria

When people ask what my car is I alway says it's a 5492 (Clipper Deluxe Touring Sedan) and not just a 5401 (Clipper Deluxe Chassis number).

Actually Kev, there's an 11th one, the 721 sport phaeton though I don't know if any were actually produced. Let me also add for clarity that there was only one body available on the 1100, the #703 4-door (5 passenger) sedan.

It also may be interesting to note that the 1933 Eight (chassis 1001, 1002) was 127-1/2 inch wheelbase, and that the 1934 Eight (129-1/2" wheelbase) was a carryover from the 1932 Standard Eight (901, 902), also 129-1/2". This was apparently done to permit the 1933 Eight to use (from the cowl rearwards) the leftover bodies from the 1932 Light Eight (900)which was also on the 127" wheelbase.
