I'm looking at picking up a 50 4 door for a few parts for my 48. My question is is hard to part these car out to make some of my money back or is it a slow process with packards?

The main part I want from it is the transmission and a few little things, the car is real rough and has been sitting for a long time but does have a title.
I'm completely new dealing with packards and I'm working with a very tight budget so if I could break even or come close after getting the parts I need would really help.

Any recommendations and thoughts on this will help thanks

It's a long slow process, we have some used parts in stock we took off cars 50 years ago

Packard made a large number of those models. Unfortunately until the last few years 48-50 models were abundant but due to the styling as compared to other models, not that much in demand. Now that they are starting to become about the last of the affordable Packards and were still made with truly prewar quality and materials they are starting to get a following. What parts you have to sell and the condition would determine demand and price. The inexpensive model parts cars are fairly plentiful but the higher end models -- particularly Customs -- are somewhat scarce.

I'm sure of the model. How about parts like body panel, trim, bumper and grill? Any value in those? It has the bird hood ornament

Trim and grill parts can be worth money if they are in excellent condition. Once things have to be rechromed, then their value goes down dramatically.

Besides those items, overdrive components would be the next valuable parts.

The grille emblem coat of arms is one of the last uses of cloisonn? and is valuable IF the enamel is undamaged. The lenses are still glass but are common. Good factory radio antenna and exterior sunvisor will find a home.
