AACA Eastern Fall Meet – Hershey Region 2023 (AKA Hershey)

Swapmeet: Tuesday, October 3rd - Thursday, October 5th.

For anyone that has not attended, you will need the following:

-Sunscreen
-Hat
-Umbrella
-Summer Clothing
-Fall Clothing
-Winter Clothing
-Rain Coat
-Gloves
(all the above is sometimes needed in the same day!)
-Good walking shoes. You WILL walk miles each day, and even after 3 days you will still not see everything.
-Map of the fields with the light posts designated
-Cash, lots and lots.
-Quarters (for bathrooms)
-Bottled water
-A large carry bag or wagon, to carry your finds

...and I am sure others will pipe in with things I forgot.

Less than two months out now. If you have a space at Hershey with parts, let's start listing those space numbers for reference.

The Packard Club (PAC) is headquartered at GAD-28 on the Green Field. Look for the yellow Packard balloon.

Many PAC projects and back issues of The Packard Cormorant magazine will be available, as well as drinks and snacks for PAC members.

I'll have my speedometer biz space in Chocolate North (but will be scouring the meet for Packard, Hudson and Speedometer parts!)

I’ll be attending for the first time this year. I’ve really appreciated all the help I’ve gotten on this site. I hope to meet many of you.

Here are the field maps from last year. I don't imagine much will have changed.

For those that have never attended, here is a little navigation help:

Most folks selling Packard parts are in the Green Field between First Ave and Fifth Ave. Of course, other Packard folks are spread out across the other fields. But that area of the Green Field is the highest concentration.

Space Numbers are read as follows:

Example: GAB-12

G - Field (G for Green, R for Red, etc)
AB - is the row number.
12 is the space number in that row


The PAC Tent is located at GAD-GAE 28 (GAD-28 and GAE-28).

So Green Field, at the end of both rows AD and AE, which is space number 28.

The circled numbers on the map represent the light post numbers. If you ask somewhere where they are located, ask them what their closest lamp post is or what posts they are between. That makes finding them in the distance easier, as the space stickers on the ground usually become unreadable by day three.

For example, you'll find the PackardInfo Banner waiving in GAF 20-24 (Green Field, Row AF, spaces 20, 21, 22, 23, & 24), which is between lampposts 118 and 125.

The Giant Center is pretty much in the middle of everything. That is also where they have indoor bathrooms if the porta-potties are not your thing. If using a porta-potty, it is customary to tip the attendants, hence why you need to carry some quarters around.

To cross from the Orange & Green Field side to the Chocolate & Red Field side, you have to use the bridge that goes over Park Ave. That is up near the Giant Center.

Personally I find taking the Car Corral road under Park Ave much easier than the bridge over, as I'm not good with stairs and the handicap ramps on the bridge are a bit of a pain. The bonus is the eye candy of the for sale cars along the way.
