Glue for what?

If your referring to the running boards, I haven't replaced the rubber yet. The drivers side is original and the passenger side is just painted metal.

But I bought weld-bond to glue the replacement rubber down when I am ready.

Ah gotcha! My eyes must be getting bad. I thought you had installed the rubber on the running board.

Ok alternator is finally in place. I needed to swap the pulley for the one on the older unit. The alternator location is a bit different now, so I really need a belt that is slightly shorter as I am pretty much at the end of the adjustment. But its currently tight enough not to slip.

I also used the rear bracket bolt to hold a clamp to wrangle the road draft hose.

It's putting out 14.68 volts on startup.

I let it run in the garage for a while and never got the too of the radiator over 161f.

Once it was warmed up I checked to see how the heat shield was working.

622f on the collector, 122f on the outside of the shield. So pretty effective. I may extend the shield a bit lower as I was getting some rising heat from below where the shield stops that is warming up the master cylinder a bit more around the brake switch. No horribly, but enough that a small modification should remedy it.

How is the factory fuel line routed from the engine to the tank. The cobbled together fuel line is currently running down the inside of frame rail. But there is evidence of tubing clamps on the outside of frame rail.

If it supposed to go on the outside, where does it cross back over to the tank and the engine. I'd actually prefer to move it to the outside as it very close to the exhaust routing at the moment.

This is probably my next project while the front fenders are off the car.

Frank Trotter was kind enough to forward this to me, which explains what I am missing:

Does anyone have a spare bulkhead fitting and clip available?

I have a lead on the bulkhead fitting. So I should be ok there.

How does the fuel line route in the rear from the outside of the frame to the tank?

Once again, your blog is going to really help me out. In my case, someone routed a new fuel line down the drivers side of the frame. I have the bukhead fitting, but it isn’t used. I’m also curious the line should be routed in the rear.

The '54 was routed down the driver's side and then crosses over, which is original. I figured they much have changed it in later models to move it away from the exhaust.

That fuel line frame bulkhead fitting is coming to me from Joel Ray. He had one in his inventory, but it was misidentified as a brake junction block. So that should be here in a couple of days.

I'm in a clean-up mode right now, trying to get everything put away before we leave for New Zealand late next week.

I probably will attempt to get the seats back in the car before I leave, as I had to pull them out to access the body bolts when I replaced the rockers. I prefer to get them back under cover.

I am still looking for pictures of how the fuel line transitions from the outside of the frame rail to the tank. If anyone with a 120 or 115 can assist, that would be grateful.
