The '36 convertible coupe appears to lack vent windows. My '37 has vent windows.

When they dropped them, people started having issues with door glass falling out and leaking at high road speeds.

It made having a smoker in the car a lot more annoying, too.

Another issue with ventless convertibles was the top ballooning up at highway speeds. Opening a vent window part way totally eliminated that.

Fun fact the last production vehicle to have them was the 1996 F150 and Bronco.

There was actually a guy that tried to lobby Congress around that time to make vent windows required in cars so he could smoke easier LOL

Edit: it was Jerry Orbach

I think you are close. As the "old style" Ford Pickup continued production for the F-250 and F-350 thru 1997 and into the early 1998 model year, I believe the last to carry vent windows would have been the 1998 F-350 Super Duty. They are sorely missed. I wish every vehicle had them. And I don't smoke!

1936 120 open cars did not have vent windows. That changed for the 1937 Juniors.
