Hi all,

Further to my question of 8/25, I wonder if anybody has a left over dust cup to dispose of, as it otherwise seems that I have to buy a complete king pin set.

I have a small assortment, some new and some used, from various years. Provide the OD of the opening and I'll see what I have.

Is it 31,8 or 33,4 diameter? I have both in stock and will be happy to mail you one along with a fitting.

The diameter should be 1-5/16" (33.4 mm)

Isn't the dust cap the same as a core plug as used in engine blocks etc? These are a standard plug from auto parts stores.

Yes it is. It just needs to be drilled and tapped 1/4-28 for the grease nipple (assuming that the original type of grease nipple is used)

Sorry about the poor picture quality for the plug.

Hi,

Thank you all for your overwhelming assistance.

Ross.
As I presume you will have the easiest task, perhaps you could mail me the cup.
However I can not provide you with the diameter before next week.
I do not know the drill - but perhaps you could e-mail me - see my profile.

Rocky - you should be able to buy the plugs at any local auto parts store. Likewise a 1/4" drill and tap.

Rocky, for a 1/4-20 thread you will need a No. 8 drill, if it is a 1/4-28 a No. 3 drill is required, and if it is a 1/8-27 tapered pipe then a R drill will do it. Good luck.
