Do any of you have any recommendations on having your brake shoes relined? I'm looking for a company as close to the Detroit area as possible to save on shipping. Both my front and rear need to be done. What should I expect to pay?
Thanks for any advice on the subject.
Todd

Have you considered doing it yourself? The riveting equipment is not hard to come by, and the rivets themselves are readily available. It's interesting to some of us who like to do these things to learn a new skill associated with our cars.

I don't have the correct tools to do it myself and a mistake made here could cost dearly. I have plenty of other things to work on while this is being sorted out by a profesional. Normaly I am fully hands on.

I think the premier supplier is Fort Wayne Clutch (and brake).

The number goes like 1-800-clu-tche(s) or you can look them up.

Ask for Scot.

I can't help with a supplier but make sure they know the car has mechanical brakes and must have woven lining suitable for the lower brake shoe pressures. The woven lining material is designmated "MZ Gold" here in Australia and it is the asbestos free equivalent of the old asbestos based "MZ41". I guess those designations apply in US.
