Can anyone furnish a tip on how to remove the plunger from the master cylinder of a 1938 Packard Eight (120)? Thanks!

Presuming:

you have the MC out of the car and and clamped in a vise, and

you have removed the wire retainer at the mouth of the cylinder and cleaned around the rim, and

you are not reusing any of the internals, then stick a punch in through the the front and just hammer everything out.
