Run to the Pines Car Show - Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ

My bride and I have returned to Tucson from the beautiful mountains of east central Arizona. All weekend long, the temps never rose above 72 degrees and when we rolled into our driveway the thermometer was showing triple digits.

The show was said to be over 500 cars and I think I saw every imaginable color possible for 55-57 Chevrolets. The Mustangs weren't far behind in truth too!

There were only two Packards in attendance, mine and a fellow I never met before. Mr. Jim Morse hails from the very small hamlet of Nutrioso AZ. Nutrioso is just a few miles from New Mexico. I photographed his car and it has an interesting history as the pictures will show. I also threw some in showing the 400 of course.

After posting the Packard pictures I'll post other cars at the show in a post behind this one.

I almost forgot. No joy in Mudville on Sunday morning: both Packards failed to win any formal recognition. Last year's winners, a '54 Hudson Hornet HT & a 59' Nash Metropolian were awarded first and second place again. The 3rd place went to a '56 Ford Fairlane HT.

Kevin, thanks for the pics that let us join in as it makes us appreciate our cars more. I have noticed that for all the shows (in CO) that I have been a participant, none of my Packards have ever won any awards. I usually have one or both of mine at the shows and there is a lot of interest, but still no awards
I don't attend these shows to receive awards, but it sure would be nice to get one some day

Kevin, thanks for covering that event so well. I really enjoyed all the pics. Hudson's are also a favorite of mine. I am surprised the 51 Patrician did not get an award, but such is life
I enjoy that you attend a lot of shows and show the car owners what an automobile is.

Kevin, Thanks for sharing photos of two beautiful Packards. The '51 is a rare model and it is nice to see one. Your Four Hundred is just getting better and better.

I just returned from a week in Santa Fe visiting family and friends and doing some volunteering at the Santa Fe Concorso. I'll post photos of the three Packards that were displayed ('20 Series 3 Twin Six Touring, '37 Twelve Convertible Sedan, and '40 One Sixty Business Coupe), and the class and special awards winners after I sort out all this stuff that accumulated on my desk in my absence.

Any additional information available on the Hess & Eisenhart Patrician? There are a couple of Derhams and at least one Dietrich-embellished Patricians but first I've heard of an H&E. VN, Briggs and thief-proof number would be especially important to my roster work.
