I love my 6 v system I have it tuned great. Easy start with the napa 7212 and 6 v pertronix and a 6 v alternator BUT I'm looking at a modern transmission the Chrysler 727 is the thing there's n adapter kit ,from sierra grove no problem BUT there's a a-518 ,it's the same thing with an overdrive ,ah the grail
Problem is there's 2 pesky 12 v solenoids The tork converter lock up and the overdrive They are controlled by two pressure switches so that wont matter what voltage ,but the solenoids ,,,Now what ? I hear they actually run on 8 v ok closer , I looked at a little power inverter a 6 to 12 v little box but that's for neg ground application
Anyone got any ideas? I hear rumors that someone did it I would like to stay with my 6v system

Here is an inverter another poster found for positive ground and also capable of running a motorhttp://www.6to12volt.com/ Looks similar and may be the same positive ground unit Newport Engineeringhttp://www.newportwipers.com/optacc.php uses for their electric wiper motor conversions.
