if anyone knows anything about this car please let me know i have been told it was one of two done by packard in 56 as sort of a prototype. But i dont know really.

Any info you guys might have would be greatly appreciated this car belongs to a friend of mine.

What does the data plate have on it?
5687-???? Paint ?? Trim ??

What is that on the 1/4 panel?

I've never heard anything about such work by the factory, and I don't recall seeing anything like this in any of the many design ideas showcased in the "Show and Concept Cars" folder of this site's Photo Archive.

It's nice work, but the top of the fin lacks the crease of not only the fin of the Predictor, but the top of the 55-56 rear fender. Unless someone can provide supporting factory documentation, this suggests to me that the work was more likely someone's homage to the Predictor.

It reminds me a little of what SP did to the 58 Packard when they tacked on that fin to the top of those nice clean Clipper tail lights.

I hope this addition to the car gets removed. If it isn't going to be removed, maybe add a spoiler to the deck lid. :)

I wonder if any downward force is exerted at high speeds?...

The only other modification is a 3 speed manual has been fitted

Maybe my imagination or the photo angle but is that a stock chrome piece on the bottom of reynolds wrap above fender skirt to taillight? Mine tapers off and seems to be much more flush to the body at the taillight end. To me that one looks much larger or set away from body and squared off.
