Just had my fuel sending unit rebuilt.I need to replace the wire from it to the wiring harness. What gauge wire should I use? This is for my 51/200/288.

G'day IBUB, the correct wire size is 18-gauge. It's the lightest gauge of any wiring that was used in the '51's.

If you want the correct colour code for it, that's brown with a red and black X tracer.

i have also found it a good idea to solder another wire to the top of the sending unit also 18 guage long enough to ground it to the trunk latch bolt,,then you dont rely on a good connection between the sending unit and tank, of the top of the frame.
