This is the anniversary of the last "true" Packard produced in Detroit.

'Twas a Patrician as I recall, 5682-3775. So Herr Berger, what activities are you recommending to commemorate the event?

We might hoist some Jack (black label) to a fallen friend.

Minor correction: 5682-4775, solid dark blue Patrician. R.I.P. Packard 59 years and counting.

Two years and one month on, July 25, 1958, 58L-8134, the last South Bend Packard, also a solid blue sedan.

Finally, three years, nine months, one day, April 26, 1962: "The "Packard" portion of the corporation name was dropped as it was "an anachronistic hindrance to our corporate image" so said the Studebaker board.....
