Like I said a friend of mine seen this car. He knew I like Packard's. The price and mileage on this car are one reason I might consider it. I'm looking more toward something as a "driver" than show car.

Hi John

Well, there are economic downsides noted, but if you are willing to accept those and put your work (sweat equity), time and money into reviving this 200 for a driver, go for it. You'll learn a great deal, develop your project management and mechanical skills, and make friends with knowledgeable people who are ready to help. Once you have it drivable, the sense of accomplishment is priceless.

So, show us some detailed pictures when you can and go from there.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Or take the road less traveled and buy the best car you can afford. Body work and interiors are the most costly. Mechanical work less so, but still not inexpensive. Buy the best car you can afford unless you enjoy posting a 100 page project blog. The work these folks are doing is most impressive, and comes with decades of developing the skills needed. Hats off to them!

Yeah the one posted on CL for 6500 looks like a pretty nice car. From my understanding the 200 series isn't worth much more than 8-9000 dollars??
