Forum members may already be familiar with this photo of Al Jolson leaning on the front passenger-side wheel cover of a 1932 Packard. I assume it's Jolson's Packard and not a random Packard he decided to lean on just for a photo-op. But, then again, it may be just that.

Looks like a light eight (shovel nose) convertible coupe.

I don't know if Al Jolson owned a Light Eight but here (seen at the Gilmore Packard "Experience" last year and at the 2014 CCCA Grand Classic in Cape May NJ) is his 32 Twin Six Dietrich, now owned by Dave Kane of New Jersey. It has a well-documented history back to Jolson and was a Pebble Beach winner a couple of years ago.

What a magnificent machine! Thanks for sharing those pics--which really show the car to great advantage. Based on what I've read about Jolson, the car definitely fit his personality.

Jolson certainly had good taste in motorcars! Reflecting on his schtick that made all those bucks, he was an entertainer in a late window of time. That exaggerated sentimentality, the bathos was starting to fade from public taste by the early 1930's.

My mother always said that Al Jolson's singing sounded like someone imitating Al Jolson singing.....!

Have heard for years that the 32 T6 D. Conv. Sed. has documented history but ive never seen a period photo or information tying it to Al. Whats out there?
