I am rebuilding my 37 120 front suspension. I pressed in new kink pi. Bushings and roller bearings. The problem I am having is trying to put in the Welch plugs over the bushings and bearings. The plugs are 1.310 and the bore is peened over to 1.265 on the suspension parts. Is there a trick to installing these plugs? Was I supposed to grind out the peened over metal?

Thank you,
Willie

Take a small punch and hammer and push the peened metal back out to roughly the right size. If you grind it off there might not be enough left to hold in the plug.
