oil pressure relief valve

could some one point out where the oil pressure relief valve is on my 42 clipper it has the straight 8. Thanks Howard

It's external, part of the oil pump. Look down below the carburetor and exhaust manifold and you'll see the oil pump protruding from the block at an angle, it has a common drive with the distributor and is just opposite it. On the pump is a short cast extension with a large hex-headed plug at the end - that is the spring retainer for the pressure relief valve; once you remove the threaded hex plug you have access to the spring and plunger.
