Can anyone tell me where the vacuum hose should be run to operate the drivers windshield wiper on a 533?

Oh yes...how do i turn it on and off? Was the initial hose made out of copper or rubber?

On my 28 526 convertible coupe a steel tube runs up the left windshield support, on the lower end a rubber hose connects it to the firewall (behind the kick panel) and on the top a hose connects the wiper motor which has a switch on it.
