Documentation indicates that for the 1937 models, introductory paint schemes E, F, K,S, and Z "will be later discontinued."

Does any one have an documentation certifying that Packard actually discontinued those paint schemes?
IF so...WHEN?

In other words, was this just a scheme (pun intended) to move cars by teasing the customer?

Imagine the following exchange: "After you have looked at the other car brands remember this color is only offered on an introductory basis and may not be available later on."

My response would be that Packard was not in a position to turn down sales so if dealers demanded cars they would get them.

That’s amusing, Tim. The announcement color scheme for my ‘40 was Harbor Gray (light warming gray) with red leather. I imagine that after producing enough Harbor Gray Packards to meet the 1940 model introduction demands in August 1939, your mind would go gray with fog, which was appropriate for the Duchess to be sent to ECA in SFO. By the time I got her 20 years later, the Harbor Gray was worn down to gray or black primer in places. But for the factory paint shop, I imagine, One more Harbor Gray Packard and you might as well move to Oregon.
