I was wondering if anyone had tried an aftermarket sending unit in a 1941 super 8. Also was wondering if the internal parts could be switched to an old unit. here is a picture of all thats left of mine

I doubt you will find any aftermarket units with the correct resistance as it most likely uses one of the old obsolete ranges. Depending on how they mount and what they are it might be possible to swap some items but it also might be quite a project to try and get them working reliably.

You might contact KM Lifestyles and see if they can make you a new sender. They cannot make the 48-50 bimetal type but have built several of the straight resistance types at a reasonable cost for Packards made in the 30s up thru 47. Several were made for people here on the forum and so far have not heard of any issues with their builds. They could probably do yours as well.https://mykmlifestyle.com/KM_Lifestyle_Fuel_Senders.html

Mine may have been a simpler one than used in 1941 but it was rebuilt by TriStar LLC and they did a wonderful job! It has the 1948-1950 mounting type but with the 1951-1956 resistance so they blended a new sender with my original flange.
