6th Series Seat base and Lid

I unearthed a heavy steal Seat lid from my 640 parts car this weak. I believe it is #164680 page 415, unfortunately no picture. It lays flush on top of the horizonal raised seat base on ALL closed sedan models 626/633/640. It has a front "L" edge to prevent it from lifting straight up, the back and sides have a flat edge. My good 640 did not possess this part.

Two holes are centered at the rear of the lid, one appears to be a finger pull with a nice rounded smooth edge. The other hole has 4 small "mounting holes" in a square pattern around the hole. I believe it may have had a flush mounted lock to secure the lid. The tools and jack are under the front seat.

Can anyone share confirm this mystery? Or have a picture of your lid to share?

Greg

Cool find. If those artillery wheels are good, they would make a great rare addition to your car.
