Window Crank Quick Fix

The knob on my 49 Standard 8 driver side window crank came off the other day. Previous owner had glued a washer on to the end of the shaft attached to the knob that retained the knob in the handle. To do the repair I pried a star washer off the back of a small nut, snipped the washer in one spot and then after assembling the knob/shaft into the handle, pressed the star washer onto the knob shaft with a small socket. Works perfect.

Thanks for this. I have the same problem on one of my handles, and I tried to fix it with washer. Didn't work. I'll give this a shot.
